Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We are looking for an Indirect and Services Purchasing Manager to join our team in Bishopstoke, Southampton. Reporting to Europe NRM Material Director, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of indirect materials, services, and capital expenditures (Capex) within the UK. This role involves balancing local strategies with centrally coordinated actions and ensuring alignment with the overall purchasing strategy.
Manage sourcing and procurement activities for assigned projects, services, and commodities, ensuring strict monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as price, quality, service, time, and risk.
Ensure continuous alignment within the Indirect, Capex, and Services Purchasing strategy.
Review and negotiate local contracts, ensuring terms and conditions support service and goods delivery while evaluating major risks associated with different contract formulas.
Coordinate with relevant internal customer departments to address purchasing aspects related to technical specifications and scope of work.
Deploy and enforce the purchasing organizational structure at the local level, emphasizing a commodity-based approach rather than a country-based approach.
Supervise the entire purchasing flow from sourcing to procurement, utilizing necessary technical tools (e.g., SAP) to manage the procurement-to-payment process.
Train new team members on specific commodities following guidelines from the central headquarters.
Monitor and report on the overall performance of the region in terms of recurring and spot actions, ensuring accurate monthly reporting on the purchasing dashboard.
You are the right fit if you have/are:
Proven experience as a purchasing professional, preferably within indirect materials and services commodities.
Experience within a HV or Civils environment.
Previous experience of managing, coaching and developing a team.
Flexible mindset to adapt to changing priorities and workloads, with the ability to move between projects and interface with different teams.
Strong team-working and problem-solving attitude.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Windows Office applications.
Ideally hold knowledge of SAP or similar procurement systems.
Strong networking and coordination skills.
In-depth knowledge of purchasing rules, systems, and processes.
Experience in a global or multinational environment with a matrix organization is a plus.
