Job Description

MISSION

For the past 20 years, the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation (ILOR) has been an important actor in the literacy movement across Canada. We connect every day with school boards, educators, students, parents, and community organizations to understand their literacy needs and have become a well-known and well-respected member of the education community.

ROLE

The Foundation’s Coordinator is responsible for acting as a liaison with the Foundation’s school and non-profit stakeholders, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Foundation

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

Liaise directly with and support school and store partners to provide exceptional customer service during the implementation of ILOR programs and granting activities, elevating issues that may arise to the program SpecialistProvide administrative support to the ILOR team in the form of invoice processing, donation processing, and maintenance of team shared filesSupport the ILOR Education and Programs Specialist in overseeing all grant application processes including intake, judging coordination, ongoing tracking and data managementSupport the ILOR Programs and Granting Specialist in partner stewardship, including partner onboarding and offboarding, developing training materials, and supporting the execution of process improvements, ensuring a smooth transition into and out of programsOversee all elements of Optimy, the Foundation’s CRM, including data management, partner onboarding, partner training, contract administration, and granting partner communicationsBook meetings and work with ILOR team to build agendas and draft notesSupport tracking, processing, and management of ILOR contracts, records, and invoicesSupport event planning and execution as neededStay up to date on key trends and research in the nonprofit, education, and literacy sectorsSupport in the promotion of grant recipient stories, telling the story of ILOR’s partners and program impact across Marketing channels

People

Reports to: Senior Manager, Indigo Love of Reading Foundation

ILOR Specialist, Senior Manager, Executive DirectorIndigo Corporate SalesIndigo Retail Operations and Field teamIndigo Accounting and Finance teams

External:

Grant partners (schools, community groups, etc.)Donors and supporters of the FoundationExternal vendors and consultants

Qualifications

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

Post-secondary degree in a related field, or a combination of work experience & education deemed equivalentExperience in specialty retail or a retail environment considered an assetExperience in Marketing and Communications considered an asset

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

Excellent time management and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet conflicting demands and deal with time-sensitive issues.Self-motivated, passionate, detail-oriented, multi-tasker extraordinaire who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); experience with other database management systems relating to granting and/or community engagement an asset

Other (travel, Bilingual, etc.)

Knowledge of French or Indigenous language(s) considered an asset
