India Direct Custody Operations - Vice President

As a Vice President in Custody Operations, you will manage securities markets-related projects, identify process gaps, and liaise with Technology team to align technologies with business requirements. You will support the transition from legacy systems to new applications, ensuring operational efficiency and cost savings. Your role involves extensive collaboration with Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Tax, and Customer Service to maintain high service quality standards and compliance with local market standards.

Job responsibilities:

Manage India Securities Markets-related projects Identify process gaps and workflows, liaising with Technology team for alignment Support transition from legacy systems to new applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational capabilities meet service quality standards Maintain strong working relationships with external partners, including regulators Participate in market advocacy to enhance client experience and manage risk Evaluate workflows and processes to improve efficiencies and accuracy Comply with audit and compliance regulations, serving as the focal point for audits and client visits Provide input, development, and management of projects on system enhancements and process reviews Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring systems and processes minimize risk Develop succession planning and provide development opportunities for team members

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor's Degree At least 10 years of relevant experience in a Depository or Custody Operations role Prior experience in India Custody Trade and Settlement, Foreign Exchange, and Payments entailing Equity, Derivatives, Currency, Structured Products, Stock Lending, etc. Prior experience in Capital Markets, Trade Lifecycle, and/or opening of scheme Accounts with custodians for Trading in Indian and Foreign Securities Sound knowledge of India Financial and Securities Market and its operations principals and rules National Institute of Securities Markets (NSIM) Certification in Depository Operations or Risk Management Strong people management skills and ability to guide staff in a team-oriented environment Strong risk and control awareness, ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines Excellent communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
