Income Tax Manager

Job Overview:

The Income Tax Manager position is focused on corporate income tax quarterly and annual provisions, assistance with annual income tax compliance, tax planning, and transaction analysis for a North American specialty engineering and construction business. As a key member of our Tax Department, the Income Tax Manager will assist with the preparation of the out-sourced income tax compliance for our domestic and international returns. This position will leverage technology resources to assist with streamlining processes in the tax department. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Income Tax.  This is a hybrid position of three days in the office and two days remote.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provisions and SEC income tax disclosures. Prepare deferred tax reconciliations and have overall responsibility for income tax account reconciliations. Maintenance of OneSource Tax Provision software and tax provision workpapers. Maintain strong SOX control environment and ensure the quality of all SOX reporting documentation. Work with subject matter experts in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and purchase accounting income tax entries. Research, develop, and assist with implementing innovative tax planning strategies aimed at identifying and mitigating tax risks and reducing income tax expense. Assist with tax technology initiatives and department process improvements including the development of tax provision analysis metrics. Assist in the review of federal, state & local, and foreign tax returns, estimates, and extensions. Assist with federal, state & local, and foreign income tax audits.  Support special projects throughout the year. Develop strong relationships and maintain regular communication with the Corporate Accounting Team

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university. Minimum four years of experience with at least three years of public accounting experience in corporate income tax provision, or four to six years in an industry corporate tax provision role. CPA license preferred, but not required Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to lead team discussions Strong research skills in ASC 740 and income tax matters OneSource Tax provision software experience required Preference given to candidates with previous experience working with any of the following software: Alteryx, Sage Fixed Assets, Microsoft Power Query, PowerBI, Viewpoint, and/or OneStream.
