An Income Auditor reviews, analyzes, and recommends improvements to the daily financial reports and process to improve accuracy and efficiency.
What will I be doing?
\n\n
As Income Auditor, you will monitor all transactions as they contribute to or detract hotel revenue. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
\n\n\nCarry out daily checks of revenue via an Operations Audit as per hotel standards\nReconcile and monitor commissions, housekeeper and rate discrepancies, and Conference and Banqueting Revenue against daily function sheets\nCheck non-arrivals, late departures, no sales/voids, management bills, bill sequence and pay-outs\nCheck bills signed to Room Account and record all covers\nSpot-check Function Diary and the settlement of function bills\nReconcile telephone, Pay TV, newspaper revenue, guest laundry income, corrections and allowance\nEnsure Advanced Deposits are current\nAudit the hotel daily revenue figures, supporting reports and vouchers\nEnsure that all revenue is captured and reported\nReview all entertainment dockets and officers checks, ensuring that all are authorized and signed and have appropriate level of detail\nCheck that complimentary rooms have been appropriately authorized\nAudit the telephone interface report to ensure all telephone revenue has been posted\nEnsure the relevant Front Office and Outlet reports are printed, audited and filed in date order\nVerify transactions posted in the daily report, including but not limited to credit cards, city ledger, paid outs, allowances and rebates, miscellaneous charges, car park revenues, and room safe keys\nPrepare rebate and allowance summary and rebate journal\nReconcile credit card charges between electronic credit card machine and Point of Sale system on a daily basis\nInput and allocate credit card payments from bank statements, following up on any discrepancies\nPrepare daily revenue report for the Hotel Management\nAudit the daily cash summary prepared by the General Cashier and records the summary in the General Cashier’s Report\nCheck the Room Rate Discrepancy Report to ensure that all rate changes, upgrades etc. have been properly authorized\nRecord cashier overs/under in the relevant reports and follow up with the Outlet Managers or Front Office Manager\nFollow up on any discrepancies\nEnsure all paid out vouchers have proper authorization, signatures and backup\nAudit the daily food and beverage report and verify the cashier’s remittances to the General Cashier’s Report\nEnsure that all restaurant and bar checks are properly accounted for\nEnsure that all banquets and functions revenue is entered\nEnsure the accurate and timely input of data to the General Ledger system\nRecommend improvements to processes as required\nExecute on tasks/requests as instructed by the Finance Manager\n

\n\nExperience in the hotel / leisure / retail sector\nPossess strong organisational skills\nA good understanding of financial operating systems and procedures\nStrong influencing, inter-personal and communication skills\nExcellent analytical skills\n\n\n
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
\n\nPrevious Accounts/Finance experience in a high volume department, preferably within a hotel environment\nExperience with the PeopleSoft system\n\n\n
