Inbound Quality Inspector - Aerospace

JSG is seeking an Inbound Quality Inspector for our Aerospace & Defense client in Woodland Hills, CA.
Position Purpose/Summary:
The Inbound Inspector is responsible for validation and detailed inspection of incoming products to ensure they meet company, customer, and industry standards. This position will be able to understand special quality requirements and perform detailed inspections of materials to ensure they meet blueprint specifications before being stocked as inventory.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all final inspection employees are expected to conform to the following:
•Validate purchase orders.
•Use precision measuring tools to assist with proper inspection of the product.
•Incoming inspection of new vendor receipts
•Access and understand specific customer portals to pull quality records for inspection of that customer’s material or product.
•Inspect dimensional and visual characteristics of hardware to blueprint specification and requirement.
•Verify conformance to applicable drawings, procedures, and other approved documentation.
•Inspect materials to customer specific requirements before releasing outbound products to be shipped.
•Decision making on the validity of parts and hardware to determine meeting specifications and blueprints.
•Reject and document nonconformance of hardware that does not meet blueprint or specifications for disposition.
•Able to provide delegated inspection of behalf of the approved manufacturer or supplier to verify and release products.
•Evaluate and interpret manuals, blueprints, customer specifications along with other technical and detailed data.
•Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports.
•Scan quality documents and certificates into company imaging system.
•Perform first article inspection and final inspection of materials utilizing different automated and manual equipment.
•Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
•Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
•Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
•Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
•Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Minimum of 2 year of experience in inspection or similar role
Knowledge:
•SAP ERP knowledge preferred.
•Knowledge of various measuring precision tools
•Knowledge of using databases and portals
•Understanding of how to analyze detailed information.
•Demonstrated knowledge of reading blueprint specifications
Skills:
•Able to work independently with little to no supervision.
•Basic computer skills like Microsoft Office suite
•Demonstrated ability to effectively balance priorities.
•Strong organizational skills
•Sound judgment in evaluating parts and blueprints.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Able to be a team player.
•Outstanding attention to detail
•Beginner to intermediate level of Excel
Licenses/Certifications:
•Delegated certified inspection preferred.
•Certification in quality control preferred
Special Success Factors
•Ensure varying quota numbers at met throughout the day.
•Maintain personal monthly target averages 24 jobs per day.
Requirements:
•Able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
•Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environments maintaining accuracy and execution of duties.
•Must be able to pass annual detailed eye exam with or without corrective lenses on jaeger and color screens.
•Able to lift up to 50lbs throughout the day.
•Must be able to effectively use calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, ring gauges, height gauges, instant measure machines and eye lubes.

Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to rest the body on the knee or knees.
Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the leg and spine.

Salary $20/hr. + annual $2100 bonus
