Job Description

This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg, Ohio. 

The Inbound Material Planner will own the material resource planning (MRP) across multiple plants including raw material demand planning, purchasing, and maintaining inventory targets. S/he will be responsible for the security and continuity of inbound material supply whilst minimizing spurious spend due to excess inventory, demurrage, or unplanned non optimal delivery costs. Success will be measured using key performance indicators such as inventory value above targets, production downtime due to lack of materials, and demurrage/emergency.

Responsibilities: 

Material Planning: Analyze and understand raw material demand data and production requirements to establish accurate inventory days’ supply (IDS) and align material ordering against the IDS targets.Material Scheduling: Develop and maintain schedules for delivery of raw materials by rail and truck to multiple sites at the lowest possible cost.Inventory Management: Responsible for maintaining IDS targets — considering constraints and inputs variability such as lead time, cycle time & short line/rail delivery constraints.Supplier & Plant Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal teams to ensure on-time, in full delivery of raw materials.Lead Time Management: Monitor and manage lead times for raw material deliveries, proactively addressing potential delays and collaborating with internal teams to minimize disruptions.Reporting & Analysis: Generate reports to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvements based on supplier and inventory data analysis.Emergency Response: Address and resolve issues related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or any discrepancies, ensuring no disruption to production schedules.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.1-3 years of experienceProven experience in purchasing, transportation management, or supply chain management.Experience in SAP or another ERP software.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.A certification in supply chain from APICS or lean six sigma is desired but not mandatory.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Additional Information

Salary Range: 

The salary range for this position will be between $75,000- $85,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
