Job Description

What will you do?

Assists in ensuring success of departmental function in a warehouse processing center or distribution center, to provide accurate and timely shipments to customers. Leads and solves problems within the limits of general standards and practices, with some direct guidance from General Supervisor. Position may also include supervising a small team of union-represented employees.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates strong expertise in the processes required to perform job responsibilities, ensuring their effective execution through standardized methods.Motivates direct reports and/or business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, professional development, and timely recognition.Identifies opportunities for improvement by utilizing tools such as layered audits.Achieves key performance indicators related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost.Fosters a safety-first culture by implementing and enforcing workplace safety policies and procedures.Acknowledges and applies Global Manufacturing System (GMS) tools and lean manufacturing principles.Exemplifies GM’s cultural behaviors and consistently demonstrates the highest level of integrity.Maintains positive working relationships and communicates effectively with employees, union representatives, and the management team.May evaluate team performance and promote continuous improvement initiatives.Achieves quality standards by clearly communicating objectives and leveraging available resources to resolve issues.Understands and consistently enforces company policies and procedures.May perform administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintaining departmental records and reports.
