What you'll do:

As a European Real Estate Tax Manager based in London, you will immerse yourself in every stage of the real estate investment lifecycle—from initial fund structuring through to divestment and liquidation. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with colleagues across Europe as you provide strategic input on structuring investments in industrial, residential, commercial, and mixed-use assets. You will play an integral role in supporting transaction teams by reviewing tax implications for new opportunities and guiding negotiations around risk mitigation strategies. In addition to overseeing compliance processes such as VAT arrangements and DAC 6 reporting obligations, you will regularly communicate regulatory changes to non-specialist audiences through tailored training sessions. Your ability to manage relationships with both internal stakeholders and external advisors will be crucial as you help shape best practices within the organisation. By acting as a trusted source of advice for Financial Controllers and other business units, you will ensure that all teams are equipped with up-to-date knowledge on relevant legislation—ultimately contributing to a best-in-class service offering for clients.

Provide expert guidance on fund and investment structuring for pan-European investments across various asset classes by collaborating closely with Controllers, Fund teams, legal advisors, and external tax consultants. Support and educate Fund and Finance teams on maintaining tax-efficient structures while ensuring alignment with evolving market practices and regulatory requirements. Deliver comprehensive tax support for transactions by reviewing underwriting assumptions, managing tax aspects of deal processes, presenting issues to Investment Committees, and recommending negotiation strategies such as tax insurance or warranties. Oversee the management of investment structures by advising on substance reviews, corporate governance policies, internal financing flows, VAT procedures, transfer pricing policies, and complex tax audits. Communicate changes in tax rules and external environments to internal stakeholders through practical guidance sessions and local training initiatives. Lead the management of pan-European compliance processes including VAT arrangements, DAC 6 reporting obligations, MDR process oversight, and use of internal software systems. Assist in assessing the impact of new tax legislation (such as BEPS/ATAD2 or Pillar 2) on investment structures while making recommendations to key decision-makers. Manage relationships with local advisory partners during transactions to ensure timely delivery of advice and effective implementation of third-party recommendations. Educate internal teams about tax sensitivities by developing robust processes for managing risks across all European operations. Act as the central point of knowledge for all matters related to liquidation of legacy funds while providing ongoing support on corporate and operational tax issues.
