Join our team as an Improvement Leader and play a vital role in transforming healthcare processes to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful improvement projects using Lean methodologies and Operations Research techniques, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across IU Health.About the Role
The Improvement Leader will facilitate and drive process improvement initiatives using Lean tools, data analysis, and Operations Research methods such as statistics, simulation, and forecasting. You will partner with facility-based Process Owners and leaders to ensure that projects align with organizational strategies and are completed on time, leveraging your expertise to deliver measurable results. Your work will support a culture of inclusion, high reliability, and continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to safer, more efficient healthcare delivery.You will develop and deliver training to enhance problem-solving and Lean capabilities organization-wide, proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and recommend process enhancements aligned with IU Health’s strategic priorities.Key Responsibilities  Lead and facilitate process improvement projects utilizing Lean techniques and Operations Research methods.Partner with Process Owners and leaders to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and timely completion.Develop and deliver training programs to build Lean and problem-solving skills across teams.Use data analysis to identify root causes, evaluate solutions, and recommend actionable improvements.Communicate project progress, outcomes, and recommendations clearly through presentations and reports to senior leadership.Foster a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high reliability.Identify and proactively resolve risks and issues to ensure project success.Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring they contribute to patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency.Support standardization, best practice dissemination, and spread of improvements utilizing Lean and change management methodologies.Apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) thinking to achieve breakthrough improvements aligned with strategic goals.Qualifications  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience required.3-5 years of relevant experience leading process improvement initiatives in a Lean enterprise or similar environment within IU Health preferred.Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.Experience in change management and training delivery is a plus.Why IU Health?
