To further develop the air and ocean import product in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
Create and maintain an effective department organization chart, which is designed for flexibility and growth.Work with operations management on capacity, efficiency issues and status of the team.Monitor and improve key departmental productivity indicators.Stay current with developments and changes in regulations and company offeringsHave thorough knowledge of the Air and Ocean Import product.Plan and support with huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team.Attend the weekly branch Sales meeting and facilitate discussions on Ocean Import with market updates and trends.Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing businessFinance
Review department P&L on a monthly basis and understand composition of clients, revenue per accountGrow department Revenue in line with District budget target and management expectations.Preparation of annual department budget and execution to itEnsure company credit procedures are followed and utilized effectivelyEnsure accounting exceptions are cleared timelyPeople
Create a culture of teamwork, elite customers service and accountabilityConduct timely and effective annual reviews along with development plans for the teamPrepare, execute and communicate department tactical business plan and goalsEnsure all staff and positions have job descriptions, clear expectations and are working with structured development plansMentor and developCompliance
