Import Logistics Coordinator
Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Import Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee the import process for food ingredients, ensuring timely and compliant delivery from global suppliers to warehouses or customers. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage high-volume logistics operations efficiently. Responsibilities: • Serve as the main point of contact between suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse teams. • Ensure all customs and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time before cargo arrival. • Coordinate delivery schedules with shipping lines, customers, and warehouse partners to ensure seamless operations. • Track and monitor shipments, identifying and resolving any delays or issues proactively. • Communicate with trucking and drayage providers to confirm timely pickups and deliveries. • Resolve shipping challenges with carriers and steamship lines to maintain smooth operations. • Review and approve invoices from vendors, including customs brokers and freight partners, in collaboration with the accounting team. • Maintain accurate shipment records, ensuring compliance with food ingredient specifications and batch tracking. • Provide regular shipment and purchase order updates to both internal teams and customers. • Work closely with international planning teams to confirm documentation and readiness for outgoing shipments. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in import logistics, international shipping, or freight coordination, preferably in the food industry. • Strong understanding of import procedures, customs clearance, and international freight practices. • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle complex and high-volume data entry tasks. • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment managing over 500 containers annually. • Experience working with customs brokers and third-party logistics providers. • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with global suppliers, vendors, and internal teams. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. • Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Excel.
