Job Description

As a Packager, you will ensure that parts are packaged to specifications for shipment to the customer or the stock room area. This role involves ensuring the quality of parts being shipped, monitoring required ship dates, numbering of parts prior to packaging, and packaging/shipping from the stockroom area. You will also wrap parts, mark and label containers, and use stamping machines as per work instructions.

ResponsibilitiesPackage parts for shipment or storage.Wrap parts securely.Mark and label containers, container tags, or parts using marking tools.Operate stamping machines.Follow directions for handling parts according to work instructions.Complete paperwork including time and sequence numbers.Ensure adherence to quality levels.Comply with safety rules.Follow organizational initiatives as directed by the area coach.Reference the route sheet for special instructions to ensure safe and undamaged product delivery.Submit Job Improvement/Suggestion Forms or Pack Information Sheets for updates to the route sheet.Ensure consistent masking and adhesion of parts for paint and powder coat processes.Operate the oven for parts requiring heat treatment.Complete the unmasking process after paint and powder coat applications.

Work Environment

The work environment is a precision metal fabrication service with a very clean and air-conditioned facility. It is a non-union workplace with multiple shifts available: 1st shift (6:30-3:00), 2nd shift (3-11:30), and 3rd shift (10:30-6:30).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
