IMA Accountant
Who we are looking forThe IMA Accountant is responsible for daily accounting related functions to ensure clients’ instructions are processed in a timely fashion. The IMA Accountant is the point of contact for internal units that offer additional services to the asset manager (i.e. Custody, Corporate Actions/Income Management, Settlement etc.), reconciliation, client administration as well as for external client (distributors, Asset Management Company and Underlying Investors in case of Institutional Clients) and analyzes the information received; making sure any client’s instruction as well as discrepancy is monitored and resolved professionally.

NON - TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

COMMUNICATION

Resolve review points highlighted by senior IMA accountants and team Manager and ensure they are kept informed of progress.Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external clients and colleagues.Provide timely and professional responses to all enquiries.

ORGANISATION

Undertake appropriate housekeeping duties e.g. filing, archiving, operation of clean desk policy.Demonstrate good time organizational skills in order to meet deadlines.Maintain systematic filing practices.Adhere to clean desk policy and record keeping.Ensure that daily workload is allocated appropriately.

TRAINING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Work with Senior IMA Accountant / Manager to identify objectives at the start of each year and keep them up to date.Actively participate in the appraisal process by completing a self-evaluation and suggesting appropriate development.Take responsibility for personal development and training.Provide direction and training to staff in the course of their day-to-day work. Train less experienced staff in fund and bank procedures and processes, and provide guidance and an adequate source of help for questions.Actively participate in the development of new hires in the team. Support and guide them in the knowledge of all technical aspects of the work, as well as in their work organization.

What we value

Numeracy / Literacy skills.Accuracy and ability to work to tight deadlines.PC literate and competent in use of spreadsheets, word processing and Outlook.Basic understanding of fund administration would be useful but not essential.Good level of English.Fluent Italian spoken and written.Analytical thinking.

Level Of Education & Qualification:

​ ​Accountancy or Business-related degree (preferred)Previous experience in finance preferred but not essential.
