Job Summary
* *
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will assist Program Director and Associate Program Director in management and direction of residency training program. The Internal Medicine (IM) Program Manager continually assesses, evaluates, and manages a wide range of programmatic responsibilities including long term planning, resident recruitment, project development, workflow review, database management, faculty, and resident communication with respect to a variety of topics and issues, as well as internal and external program relations management. This individual will also support various aspects of the Department of Graduate Medical Education (GME). Activities will require an individual who has strong organizational and communication skills, detail for accuracy, and ability to multi-task. Maintain confidential records. Assignments may be long term and require the individual to track and monitor accomplishments. Ensures a positive organizational image through cost effective measures, optimal lines of communication and effective support of all programs within area of responsibility. The IM Program Manager will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as it relates to graduate medical education.
· Manage daily operational and administrative functions of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program to include the management of training activities, evaluation, conferences and events, and marketing; direct recruitment efforts for the Residency Training Program: to include webpage information architecture, fielding candidate inquiries, ERAS application system, develop and manage interview schedules; oversee database management and online listings.
· Develop rotation and clinic schedules and monitor resident progress toward graduation. Manager will also collaborate with FM Residency Continuity Clinic Manager to support resident learning and training. Directly supervises the Education Liaison & Outreach Coordinator.
*Minimum Qualifications*
Minimum Education
BS/BA degree required. Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
Required Skills
Must possess skills and abilities in training and development, project and event management, and accreditation and compliance. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Publisher experience is a plus. Strong technology abilities and high‐level experience with web‐based data systems such as New Innovations, ERAs, ACGME WebADs, GME Track and NRMP. Previous database management experience required. An aptitude for learning new computer software is an imperative. Requires ability to read and write legibly. Must demonstrate well‐developed assessment, evaluation and organizational skills and be able to work effectively, efficiently and multitask. Must be a self-starter who is extremely organized and self-directed. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills. Must possess the ability to function independently and know when to escalate issues to achieve and maintain high levels of successful project completion. Must be knowledgeable or ability to quickly obtain knowledge regarding Hospital, State, and Federal related laws, rules, policies, processes, and standards as related to managing the residency program. Must exhibit effective communication skills, verbal and written, and excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility is essential. Ability to work at a fast pace and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Ability to ensure confidentiality at all times.
Certifications:
The national board certification for Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) is a plus. Board eligible for TAGME certification or eligible to apply for TAGME certification after three (3) years in GME
Minimum Work Experience
Five (5) years’ experience in office administration, professional administrative or management experience.
Knowledge of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) common program requirements is preferred with a minimum of two (2) of those years in a healthcare related setting is required.
Two (2) years in a medical education program preferred.
