Job Overview:
Linde Gases US (LGUS) has an immediate opening for an IE Technician to support our HyCO (Hydrogen and CO) operating plants located in Freeport, TX and Sweeny, TX within the Texas City Enclave.
This Position is Responsible for the Following:
Provide planning and onsite support to the plant, with a strong focus on critical safety systems and system reliability. Be willing to travel to other plants in the region to assist in duties of day to day and turnaround opportunities.Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and instrumentation installations as required.Performs all the administrative and reporting tasks of the position including:Maintain operating and maintenance history for all equipment.Preparing and maintaining documentation such as EAM work orders, Contractor Service Reports, and equipment calibration records as required by Procal and EAM-Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times.Troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation.Troubleshoot/Repair Predictive program instrumentation and document instrumentation repair history in the CMMS system as required by site specific documentation.Troubleshoot systems utilizing Schematic Wiring Diagrams (SWD) and Process Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) as they relate to process control.Troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).Day to day Process Analytical Equipment Calibration and Maintenance, types of which may include Thermal Conductivity, Flame Ionization, Paramagnetic, Electrolytic, Fuel Cell, and Gas Chromatography process analyzers.Schedule and perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatic instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment.Troubleshooting, Maintenance, Repair/Replacement of Automatic Control Valves.Ensure replacement spare parts are available or replaced once installed.Personnel will have to climb ladders, stairways, and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance.Personnel will have to instruct contract personnel on safety rules, regulations, and maintain constant surveillance to assure compliance at all times.Personnel must have a valid state issued driver license in good standing with the issuing state. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Associates in Applied Sciences Degree( Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent apprenticeship/education equivalent preferred.3 years direct experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance preferred.Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, multimeters, instrument calibration equipment, Meggers, etc.Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors.Strong proficiency in reading/ interpreting PID's and schematic wiring diagrams, electrical single lines, PFDs.Strong organization and planning skills.Strong computer skills.Written and oral communication skills.Self-starter, with the ability to function in team environment, supporting Operations and other crafts.Strong Troubleshooting skills.Comfort working at heights and/or confined spaces.About Linde:
