System One is seeking to contract with an experienced I&C Design Engineer for a long-term, fully remote role. As part of the team, you will contribute to the development of Sodium Fast Reactor technologies, including the design, prototype development, testing, system integration, and commissioning of advanced instrumentation and control systems. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and high-quality delivery of complex systems for Generation IV advanced nuclear reactor technologies.

Key Qualifications & Skills:
Education: B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or a related discipline from an accredited university. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of direct experience in instrumentation and controls systems development, diagnostics, and delivery. Higher education may count toward years of experience. Desired Experience: Previous experience with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation systems design. Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards. Experience in implementing design controls in accordance with nuclear power plant quality assurance standards (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1). Experience with high-temperature process design (400°C and higher). Technical Skills: Ability to manage complex projects with competing objectives and resolve conflicts. Experience with industrial process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID). Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks) (preferred but not required). Other Skills: Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation abilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical excellence. Self-starter with the ability to coordinate and lead a design team with minimal direction. Ability to manage multiple tasks requiring a multi-disciplinary approach. Experience with I&C system startup testing procedures (preferred but not required).
