Project Hydrogeologist
Location: Berkeley, CA (with travel to project sites throughout Northern California)
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Hydrogeologist to lead, manage, and contribute to technically challenging environmental projects across Northern California. This role is based in our Berkeley office and offers the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful environmental remediation and site redevelopment projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology or GeologyMinimum of 10 years of experience working on environmental remediation sites, primarily in environmental hydrogeologyStrong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulationsExperience with site redevelopment projectsStrong communication, interpersonal, computer, and quantitative skillsProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teamsExperience supervising and mentoring technical staffCalifornia professional registration requiredValid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record
Preferred:
Experience in water resources and technical issues related to groundwater basin management

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute all aspects of project management, including scopes of work, scheduling, and budgetingInteract with clients and regulatory agency staff to ensure project successParticipate in business development activities and prepare proposalsSupervise and mentor technical staff to foster growth and maintain high standardsPrepare, edit, and review project documents, work plans, and technical reportsLead field teams conducting:
Field sampling and hydraulic testingContaminant characterization in soil and groundwaterStratigraphic, geologic, and hydrogeologic analysisDevelopment of groundwater elevation and contaminant plume mapsDevelop hydrogeologic conceptual modelsDesign and analyze hydraulic tests, instrumentation, and monitoring systemsOversee the design and installation of wellsConduct numerical and analytical modeling of groundwater and vadose zone flow and transport

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
