Maintenance Hydraulics / Machine Repair - Skilled Trades Primary Essential Function Make mechanical and/or hydraulic repairs to all machinery, equipment, hydraulic test stands, hydraulic pump systems, and lubricates machinery and equipment. Responsibilities + Works with minimum supervision. + Interprets and works from blueprints, hydraulic schematics, sketches, and manuals as well as oral or written instructions. + Operates all machine tools. + Does bending and fitting of hydraulic tubing, install fittings, valves, gages, filters, heat exchangers, pumps, as well as other items related to mechanical or hydraulic repair of test or production equipment. + Determine methods of as well as completing repairs to valves, pumps, regulators, filters, tubing leaks, ball screws, and nut assemblies, fitting of moving assemblies in all test and production equipment. + Must be able to fabricate and rework parts to exacting dimensions when necessary. + Changes gear case and hydraulic system oils and filters. + Grease, oil machinery and equipment. Maintain a documentation in maintenance database to ensure frequency of PM’s are up to date. + Must be able to read and use precision measuring instruments. + Must be capable of troubleshooting machinery lubrication problems and lubricate machinery when required. + Must have the capability work on and troubleshoot low- and high-pressure test systems. + Must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing mechanical failures to machinery and equipment. + Must troubleshoot and repair various types of hydraulic systems. Must troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical problems (up to 120V applications). + Participates in “continuous improvement” activities/efforts with the classification/department/ facility. Qualifications + Must have UAW Machine Repairer Journeyman Card or a Department of Labor (DOL) Machine Repair Journeyman card or must have 8 years of verifiable industrial work experience (meeting eligibility requirements for a UAW card) in repair and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic machinery, equipment & pumps + Must be able to pass required skilled/aptitude test.
