Join us. **Job Summary:** As a Hydraulic Lab - Test/Validation Engineer you will execute Lab testing of hydraulic components, systems, and related products at the Caterpillar Global R&D Headquarters as part of new product development programs or continuous improvements projects. Major challenges facing incumbents are meeting goals for cost, quality, and performance, and managing multiple priorities. This position must keep up to date on changing clients’ needs as the project progresses, stay current with new technology, and provide guidance and direction on the project to less experienced engineers, technologists, and technicians. Incumbents may be expected to bear significant responsibility for the completion of a project with a major focus on delivery. **What You Will Do:** • Defining test validation requirements. • Performing lab tests to validate components/systems. • Analyzing test data. • Communicate results and make recommendations to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units. • Identifying and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. • Validating and implementing product solutions. • Documenting findings in technical reports. **Education Requirement:** • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum • In lieu of an accredited Engineering or Technical degree, an Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of progressive directly related technical experience will be accepted. **Top Candidate will also have:** Excellent analytical skills and a mastery of engineering concepts. Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills. Previous Hydraulic or powertrain product development experience (design, test, or analysis). Demonstrated ability to work on complex assignments. Excellent mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems. Understanding of hydraulic systems Good hands-on and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and meeting facilitation background. Ability to work with others in a team-based environment. Experience with data analysis tools. Experience with data acquisition systems. Experience working in a lab test facility. Experience with hydraulic systems and/or components.
