**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**
The IT Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for establishing, managing, and scaling a comprehensive disaster recovery program to ensure the organization’s technology systems and data can be effectively restored in the event of a disruption. The IT Disaster Recovery Manager will collaborate closely with ongoing disaster recovery initiatives and lead the development of strategies, plans, and procedures that support business continuity and recovery objectives. This role will build and lead a team over time and will work across departments to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and industry best practices.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:** The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ Develop and maintain the organization’s IT disaster recovery strategy and program: Design, implement, and continuously improve a scalable disaster recovery framework aligned with organizational risk tolerance and business continuity objectives.
+ Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and validation activities: Coordinate regular testing of disaster recovery procedures, ensuring systems, applications, and infrastructure can be restored effectively and within defined recovery objectives.
+ **Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders:** Partner with IT, Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Compliance, and operational teams to ensure disaster recovery strategies align with organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
+ **Support and participate in disaster recovery projects and initiatives:** Actively contribute subject matter expertise to disaster recovery efforts by collaborating with project managers, internal teams, and external partners to ensure alignment with technical recovery objectives and organizational goals.
+ **Operationalize and continuously improve the disaster recovery program:** Establish processes, standards, and routines that integrate disaster recovery into day-to-day IT operations. Drive ongoing improvements through lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and evolving organizational requirements.
+ **Establish and maintain disaster recovery documentation and reporting:** Ensure all disaster recovery plans, policies, test results, and corrective actions are documented, maintained, and shared with appropriate stakeholders. The IT Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for managing team performance, goals, providing feedback, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
+ Bachelor's degree preferred Majors: Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity
+ Minimum Seven (7) Years experience:
+ Relevant experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT operations.
+ Proven experience managing or supporting disaster recovery programs, including planning, testing, and continuous improvement.
+ Experience working with cross-functional IT teams and business stakeholders.
+ Leadership or supervisory experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
+ Experience with industry standards and frameworks like ISO 22301, NIST, or ITIL related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
+ Strong understanding of cloud disaster recovery strategies and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware).
+ Proven ability to lead and coordinate disaster recovery testing and validation exercises.
+ Excellent project management skills, with familiarity in methodologies like PMI or Agile considered a plus.
**Preferred to carry one or more of these certifications:**
+ Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE)
+ Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) — Focuses on business continuity but includes disaster recovery aspects.
+ Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS)
