HVDC Technical Program Manager

About the Role

The HVDC Technical Program Manager be the primary interface with our customer and engineering teams in the UK, France, Germany and India. You will have the responsibility to manage and coordinate the engineering activities of a growing global team while working with our customers to realize a strategic vision, resolving any challenges that arise. The Principal Engineer is the face of Quest Global to our employees and our customers, and as such are expected to demonstrate thought leadership, technical expertise, integrity and lead by example. This is a challenging role that will provide opportunities for growth and development within an emerging technology practice at Quest Global.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end to end project lifecycle of HVDC projects in close collaboration with customersLead engineering teams working for HVDC engagements and responsible for successful completion delivery of work and achieving KPIsDefine and implement technical review process and perform critical/milestone review to ensure quality of deliverablesIdentify skills/capabilities required and work with Talent Acquisition team to hire required capability and capacity to fulfil workload demandPromote quality culture and administer systems that ensure consistent business excellence; create, monitor, and report on key performance indicatorsSupport joint governance meetings for ongoing engagements—communication rhythm, metrics, productivity, efficiency, and escalationsBuild relationships with customers, identify opportunities, and propose solutionsMake critical decisions to balance needs of stakeholders (customers, employees, and the company), and develop program strategiesChampion employee engagement throughout team and promote a good working environment for all employees in line with Quest Global values and cultureCollaborate with account management to develop proposals for new business growth

Work Experience

 Skills and Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineeringAt least 15 years of experience in the domain of HVDC / FACTS / Renewable Energy Connection / HV Substation projects Basic knowledge of all subsystems (converter, power transformer, substation primary and secondary equipment, control system components, relevant standards etc.) and its functionalities in an HVDC/FACTS/Grid Connection context. Good understanding of scope of design and detail engineering of subsystems and related engineering service requirementsUnderstanding of data flow, interfaces and workflow between control & protection systems and other substation systems, auxiliary systems and networks.Experience and a proven track record of managing scopes in large projects.Demonstrated global mindset and ability to collaborate effectively across culturesSelf-motivated and ability to work independentlyStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and present effectively and clearly with clients, management, peers, and team membersGood business acumen and the ability to analyze data to gain insights and can use these to identify business improvement opportunities
