The HVAC/R Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration equipment, and ice machines throughout the facility. Follows mechanical and refrigeration safety, life safety, patient safety, and infection prevention measures pertaining to craft trades.
Your every day
Quality:
Inspects all refrigeration units to determine that all are functioning properly on a daily basis.Performs necessary repairs to all refrigeration equipment. Inspects equipment, parts, and machines to ensure correct operation and detect faults.Service And Corrective and Preventative Maintenance:
Performs variety of work on HVAC, fan coil units. Cleans drains, working areas, equipment, and machinery.Assists with the inspection, installation, and repair and testing of various electrical systems.Performs corrective and preventative maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems and ice machines.Performs regularly scheduled rounds and proactively identifies potential issues.Financial:
Completes maintenance and repair requisition forms.Patient Safety/ Fire Life Safety:
Follows mechanical, refrigeration safety, life safety, patient safety, and infection prevention measures pertaining to craft trades.Conducts routine environmental and safety rounds.Communication/Teamwork:
Communicates with the requester of work orders to clarify concerns and ensure satisfactory results.Communicates with supervisors, managers, and other departments to coordinate repairs or inspections.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. Your must haves
Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 (three) years of on-the-job training in all aspects of refrigeration maintenance plus selected academic instructions.Preferred: Advanced trade school or College education.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems. Ability to operate oxygen acetylene torch, hand tools, power tools, equipment, and electrical testing equipment requiring manual dexterity. Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions, schematic drawings, and layouts. Ability to utilize computer, printer, copier, telephone, calculator, cell phone and 2-way radios. Working knowledge of MS Office software products.Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.Ability to work alternative/shift work schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours. Knowledge of computer maintenance management software.WORK SHIFT:
