Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an HVAC/R Service Technician at our location in Sydney, NS. The successful candidate will maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair various HVAC/R systems within a portfolio of buildings to achieve optimum life span of the equipment. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC/R equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company specifications. + Complete digital work orders, detailed reports and daily digital time summaries. + Ensure safe working conditions are enforced and strictly adhered to in accordance with company policy. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS + Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification. + Gas B (G2) Certification / Apprenticeship considered an asset. + Commercial Refrigeration experience considered an asset. + Valid Class 5 driver's license. + Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security Clearance, as well as other site-specific clearances. + Experience using mobile technologies considered an asset. + Excellent communication and customer service skills. + Ability to read and work from HVAC, mechanical schematics, electrical schematics, line drawings, etc. + Knowledge in a variety of electronic, pneumatic, and DDC control systems considered an asset. + Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills. + Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to meet deadlines.
