Responsibilities The Service Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, diagnosing, testing and scheduled inspections on various types of mechanical equipment and systems throughout the facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides preventative and corrective service on refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Provides preventative and corrective service on reciprocating compressors. Reads blueprints, runs conduit, wires devices, and controls. Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical drawings for determining wiring layouts. Trouble-shoots, tests and repairs various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly. Performs complete inspection with minimal errors. Performs upgrades or preventive maintenance to mechanical and electrical control systems. Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety). Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Training High school diploma, GED, or completion from trade program or technical school, required. EPA Certification (Type I, II and III). All required safety certifications. Work Experience / Skills 1 - 2 years’ work experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration. Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience, supermarket stores, industrial chillers and cooling towers. Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to refrigeration, HVAC and electrical trade. Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC theory and application. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system. Knowledge of water flow, water cooling equipment and controls. Knowledge of air flow and pressure. Knowledge of different types of centrifugal compressors, piston compressors, screw compressors. Knowledge of evaporative and cooling towers, chillers and purging units. Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components. Understands quality management system and safety procedures. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Skill in both verbal and written communication. To take and pass all safety required training for facility safety programs. Good driving record. Valid driver’s license required at all times. Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
