Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions Include:

Install, replace, maintain and repair air-conditioning equipment, water cooling equipment, and temperature control instruments and devicesTroubleshoot (i.e. determine source of problem and make corrections as required)Lubricate and repair cooling towersPackage air conditioner and related equipmentOperate computer driven energy management system controlling both mechanical building systems and/or energy conservation control systemsOperate plant chiller microprocessor controllers and all plant/process heating equipmentOperate power house equipment such as boilers (including high pressure), air compressors, combustion control panels, pumps, etc. used to supply steam, water and compressed air for manufacturing and HVACSchedule firing procedures and equipment repairsLog equipment functions, fuel consumption and other pertinent dataMake minor repairs, if necessary, to insure uninterrupted operationsMake periodic checks to insure compliance with all safety and operating requirementsInspect and perform periodic PM's for PIV, sprinkler risers and hydrantsPerform monthly fire extinguisher inspectionsMay also make routine adjustments and temporary repairs of HVAC equipmentTrain equivalent and lower rated personnel as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Requires stationary engineer's license (Low Pressure Boiler)Requires Universal Refrigerant Certification/LicenseDemonstrated ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructionsDemonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using decimals and fractionsDemonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and electrical drawingsDemonstrated ability to troubleshootExperience in boiler house operationsMust be free of physical impairments which would limit the individual's ability to safely work from platforms and ladders; must not have acrophobiaHave a thorough working knowledge of the principles of heating, air-conditioning and computer-driven control systemsAble to discriminate visually to perform various checks*Able to discriminate auditorially to perform noise checks*Bending motions from waist required*Able to handle/lift various parts/assemblies*Repetitive hand and wrist motion required*Extended period of standing/sitting*
