Job Summary

Join JLL's facilities team as a HVAC Maintenance Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and HVAC systems. This role combines technical expertise with independent problem-solving to ensure optimal building performance, safety compliance, and exceptional customer service in a dynamic facilities environment.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & HVAC Systems 

Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair complex air movement and HVAC equipmentPerform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipmentAnalyze heating, cooling, and humidification cycles to diagnose and resolve system issuesInspect, repair, and replace pumps, piping systems, valves, and componentsAssemble, install, and test complicated mechanical equipment and assemblies

Diagnostics & Problem Solving 

Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand toolsInspect mechanical systems to identify hazards, defects, and repair needsEnsure compliance with building and safety codesAdvise on equipment operation safety and potential system damage risksTake ownership of cross-shift issues and resolution

Administrative & Planning 

Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance of mechanical and instrumentation systemsMaintain daily reports, records, and equipment readingsMonitor inventory and initiate requests for supplies and equipmentPrepare sketches and follow blueprints for equipment installationCoordinate work with other technicians and departments

Construction & Fabrication 

Construct and fabricate parts using tools and specificationsPerform pipe fitting, soldering, and brazing in multiple materials including stainless steelConduct minor building maintenance and general repairsHandle and dispose of hazardous materials safelyRequired Skills

Education & Experience 

High School Diploma or GED required5+ years' experience with mechanical and HVAC systemsSkilled in electrical and handheld diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power toolsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment manuals

Technical Competencies 

Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and HVAC industry standardsUnderstanding of standard practices in mechanical, HVAC, and maintenance tradesTroubleshooting, diagnostic, and complex problem-solving abilitiesPipe fitting, soldering, and brazing expertise in multiple materialsAbility to prepare and follow written maintenance and operating procedures

Core Skills 

Strong attention to detail and procedural accuracyComputer competency including email, spreadsheets, and specialized softwareExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently with effective time managementCritical thinking and decision-making capabilitiesWillingness to work overtime and respond to emergency calls

Physical Requirements 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy objectsWork in all weather conditions and awkward positionsMedically qualified to wear respirator equipmentSafely climb ladders and work at elevated heightsRegular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crawlingPreferred SkillsTechnical College or Trade Program completionHVAC certification or relevant trade certificationsWelding abilities for piping and structural componentsExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Knowledge of building automation systemsAdditional trade skills (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)Manufacturing or industrial facility experienceLeadership or mentoring experience

Estimated total compensation for this position:

81,000.00 – 81,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
