HVAC Instructor
The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation Adult Education Department has an opening for a part time HVAC Instructor. The instructor will guide the classroom and lab learning experiences for the students preparing to be entry-level HVAC Technicians. Primary Responsibilities: Provide Hands-On Training: Instruct students in the proper use of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety procedures. • Assess Student Progress: Develop and administer assessments to measure student proficiency and provide feedback for improvement. • Develop Industry-Relevant Projects: Incorporate real-world scenarios and problem-solving activities to enhance learning. • Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Maintain a safe and organized classroom and lab environment in accordance with OSHA and industry regulations. • Provide Career Guidance: Assist students with career pathways, including resume building, job search strategies, and interview preparation. • Support Student Certification Preparation: Guide students in obtaining industry-recognized certifications, such as OSHA-10, EPA 608, or other relevant credentials. • Collaborate with Employers: Establish and maintain relationships with local HVAC companies to facilitate job placements, internships, and guest speaker opportunities. • Maintain Accurate Records: Document student attendance, progress, and performance as required by program guidelines. • Adapt Instructional Strategies: Modify teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Job Qualifications Must have high school diploma or GED, five years verifiable industry experience within the last ten years. Must be certified or licensed where required by law.
