HV Battery Software Controls Expert

Candidate will work closely with BMS SW supervisors, Control Architecture, BMS Hardware, HIL testing and HIL development supervisors to ensure the timely and quality delivery of the BMS production software for multiple electrified vehicle programs. What you'll do... Primary subject matter expert on cell and battery control system algorithms and techniques, including production implementation. Work closely with internal and R&A teams to identify strategic development gaps, guiding research and actively engaged in definition and execution Hands-on subject matter expert involved in electrified system development, AC and DC charging, contactor controls, BMIC measurement & fault system while understanding impact to cells. Develop & Cascade software requirements and style guides. Work closely with HV Battery Electronics Controls Technical Expert to progress state of the art designs Lead root cause analysis of BMS issues in development and post launch Develop training material and grow the controls / software knowledge base of the engineering team Lead peer-review process of models, ensure compliance to design guidelines & best practices Support resolution of HV battery controller issues Train SW engineers and provide constructive feedback and coaching You'll have... Bachelors in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Minimum 6 years hands-on experience with HV battery management systems controls including Charging related algorithms including AC and DC Fast Charging, Bi-directional Power Transfer Battery control SOX algorithms development Advanced knowledge in Electrified System / Module interactions as well as battery internal component controls (such as contactors, current sensor, thermistor, pressure sensor, and fuses) Expert ability in developing models, working in Matlab & Simulink environments Demonstrated product delivery and problem-solving skills Cradle-to-grave battery controls delivery experience Proven go to resource for difficult software / strategy issues; able to quickly and effectively apply technical and quality process knowledge to drive issues to robust closure Extensive experience in engineering document development and cascades Successful authoring and publication of engineering component specifications Able educator and mentor to engineering community – demonstrated experience delivering technical training classes / lunch & learn, etc. Familiar with different SW standards and process, includes but not limited to AutoSAR, ISO26262, and ASPICE. Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to present to higher levels of management Even better, you may have... Master or above in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Working knowledge of power electronic hardware and controls.
