Opportunity summary: As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing labor relations, policies and procedures, recruitment and talent management for assigned client group at the paper mill facility.  You will serve as the business liaison for managing union relationships while assisting with human resource initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and mill metrics. Overall, you will provide day-to-day HR functional support for the facility. 


This will be 100% onsite position

$51,750-$86,250 (DOE)

Monday - Friday 8a-5p any overtime would be minimal

Create strategic business partnerships with front-line employees and supervisors to promote positive employee relations Create progressive discipline plans to monitor, review and make suggestions for corrective actions for attendance, punctuality, conduct and performance issuesImplement human resource policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and reportingServe as first point of contact for labor relations to manage grievance procedures and administration of the collective bargaining agreement and labor union contract negotiationsCoach and advise front-line employees and managers regarding employee relations policies, contractual labor agreements interpretation and proper operating proceduresPartner with Talent Acquisitions to manage the workforce plan development and implementation, assisting with compensation and training initiativesInvestigate questions and/or complaints to resolve employee relations issues 

 

 

What you need to succeed:

3 to 5 years of HR Specialist or HR Admin experiencePossess ability to be self-sufficient, driven, and confident in decision making Working knowledge of Federal compliance guidelines (i.e. OFCCP)Working knowledge of HRIS tools and payroll systems, employment laws, benefits, HR principles Demonstrated experience managing union relationships and labor relationsPossess exceptional oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environmentDemonstrated success in applying fresh, creative thinking and a growth mindset to complex challenges/problems resulting in high impact outcomesExcellent cross-group collaboration, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsPossess a desire to grow and develop employees in a complex and matrixed business environment Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
