Here’s how you can help:
As an HR Representative specializing in Benefits and Leave Administration, you will act as a pivotal resource for employees and managers by providing accurate information and support to employees regarding their benefits and leave options/eligibility and will be responsible for processing required benefits/leave documentation. You will administer the leave of absence process from an employee’s initial request through their return to work, ensuring compliance with the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws/programs, Workers’ Compensation, and the Company’s policies. Additionally, you will support the day-to-day administration of our employee benefit programs including managing compliance with ACA regulations, facilitating benefit offers/communications, processing benefits enrollments/terminations, maintaining systems/records and contributing to other HR initiatives as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess proven expertise in accurately determining eligibility and processing the required documentation for FMLA, NYS Disability (DBL) and Paid Family Leave (PFL). They will also possess proven expertise in processing accommodation requests in compliance with the ADA. A solid understanding of benefits, leave and accommodation laws and related processes is essential, along with the ability to conduct comprehensive research and analysis before providing advice or guidance to operational managers. Furthermore, candidates should exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, be detail oriented, and display strong organizational skills.
Required Experience:
· 1-2 years’ experience with hands-on leave administration (FMLA, Workers’ Comp, Disability, PFL). Candidates must have experience independently managing all relevant documents related to leaves without the involvement of any third parties. This includes accurately determining FMLA, DBL, and PFL eligibility, processing claims and making decisions regarding leave/accommodation request approvals.
· Proven experience and ability to analyze available information regarding employee relations issues, and make informed recommendations quickly and confidently
In addition, we are looking for someone who:
•Has careful attention to detail and accuracy of work, with a commitment to confidentiality.
•Has excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and correctly prioritize tasks.
•Has interest in working in a highly flexible team environment and interest in developing new skills in an environment focused on team success.
•Has strong written and oral communication skills. Interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management and employees, effectively and sensitively.
•Has proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe. Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
