Description We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team in Torrance, California. This is a Contract-to-continuing position in the retail industry, offering the opportunity to contribute to organizational growth while managing union-related HR functions. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations and compliance matters. Responsibilities: • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing strategic HR insights and guidance. • Lead union negotiations and effectively manage complex union dynamics. • Offer support to managers in resolving employee relations issues, including disputes related to sales activities. • Empower managers to independently address minor workplace concerns. • Ensure compliance with California labor laws, collaborating with internal legal counsel as necessary. • Oversee attendance tracking, workforce management, and data-driven HR reporting. • Present actionable solutions and contribute to leadership strategy discussions. • Utilize HR technology systems for efficient management of workforce processes. • Support airport-related logistics, including security clearance and badging processes. Requirements • Proven experience in managing union contracts and negotiations. • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving. • Background in retail or service-oriented industries such as hospitality or rental services. • Familiarity with California labor laws and compliance requirements. • Proficiency in HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now or Ceridian. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear guidance to leadership. • Experience with employee relations, including conflict resolution and team empowerment. • Comfortable handling logistics related to airport operations, such as parking and security clearance.
