Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This is a contract position offering an opportunity to contribute to various HR functions, including benefits administration, employee relations, and onboarding. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support for benefits administration, including sending out required paperwork and assisting with reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Benefits Specialist to manage leave programs and ensure accurate communication with employees.
• Assist in onboarding processes, including background checks and employee file management.
• Handle employee inquiries with professionalism and a strong customer service approach.
• Support HR-related projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain and update HRIS systems with accurate and current employee information.
• Contribute to the coordination of employee relations activities and initiatives.
• Perform general administrative tasks to support the HR team, including scheduling and documentation management.
• Adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs with a proactive mindset.
Requirements • Proven experience in human resources administration or a related field.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and their practical applications in HR processes.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding procedures and processes for verifying candidate qualifications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
