We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Human Resources Director to lead our HR department and drive our people-first mission. This key leadership role is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing HR strategies, programs, and policies that attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and recommendations to senior management regarding HR best practices.

Develop, implement, and oversee HR systems, programs, and procedures that impact all aspects of the company.

Proactively work to prevent and resolve employee relations issues while supporting a positive workplace culture.

Facilitate meetings and company communications to ensure alignment across departments.

Manage HR staff and department budgets effectively.

Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and the Lower Sioux Court system.

Develop and lead recruitment strategies; conduct candidate interviews and selection.

Create and administer fair and competitive pay structures and wage policies.

Analyze and present data to the General Manager to support decision-making.

Collaborate with the Benefits Manager to secure insurance bids and confirm benefit costs and cost-sharing with the General Manager.

Lead the development and implementation of training and professional development programs.

Administer the 401(k) retirement plan and ensure regulatory compliance.

Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager through weekly consultations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in a similar industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Strong leadership and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

Expertise in policy development, problem-solving, and decision-making.

In-depth knowledge of employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Familiarity with or willingness to learn about the Lower Sioux Court system.

Culturally sensitive, particularly to Native American communities.

Must be flexible with work hours and able to travel/drive as needed.
