Job Description
A dynamic and hands-on HR Business Partner is needed to support a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing and distribution facility located in the South Bronx. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, unionized environment and is passionate about supporting frontline employees and operational leaders. The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in English and Spanish and bring at least 2–3 years of HR experience in a similar setting.
ResponsibilitiesAct as a primary HR contact for plant operations, supporting hourly employees, supervisors, and managers across multiple shifts.Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and union guidelines.Maintain a strong floor presence to foster employee engagement and address concerns proactively.Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies while balancing operational needs and employee experience.Conduct investigations related to workplace complaints, misconduct, or policy violations.Collaborate with Safety and EHS teams on incident reporting, return-to-work coordination, and safety initiatives.Partner with internal teams (Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition) to manage the full employee lifecycle.Coach and support frontline leaders on effective people management and labor practices.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR operations and employee satisfaction.Support recruitment efforts and participate in employee engagement and training programs.Essential SkillsBilingual in English and Spanish.Experience working in a unionized environment.Minimum of 2–3 years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar setting.Knowledge of employee relations, employee investigations, and employment labor laws.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.Fluency in Spanish and English.Strong knowledge of employment laws and labor relations.Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues and investigations.Experience working in a unionized environment.Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with timekeeping systems such as Kronos.High emotional intelligence and sound judgment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Work Environment
This position requires onsite work in the Bronx, Monday through Friday, in a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing and distribution facility. The work environment is fast-paced and unionized, requiring adaptability and strong interpersonal skills to engage with frontline employees and operational leaders effectively.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41.00 - $48.00/hr.
