The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is an

The
Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for identifying and delivering
innovative human resources strategies for key client groups across the
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA). This role will support leaders in the
achievement of strategic priorities by providing consultative support in all
areas of strategic human resources, including workforce planning, career
planning, employee relations, development and coaching, performance management,
compensation, and organization design. This role also develops a comprehensive
understanding of the business imperatives of client groups and strives to
implement practical and forward-looking solutions that advance the VFPA’s
mission and priorities.
**What you do:**
+ Partner with senior leaders toimplement innovative organizational and people-related strategies, practices,and capabilities in alignment with the mission and strategic priorities of theVFPA.
+ Serve as a thought leader toappropriately challenge existing organizational and people-related strategieswhile maintaining strong business partnerships and relationships across thebusiness.
+ Oversee the annual performancemanagement process and talent review process by identifying key talent,readiness, and retention risks as well as facilitating succession planning andcareer-pathing conversations.
+ Provide day-to-day coaching andguidance to people leaders and support them with their professional growth anddevelopment, as well as the growth and development of their team members.
+ Lead the workforce planning processto ensure that the tactical, operational and strategic talent needs of thebusiness are met.
+ Partner with business leaders toensure that appropriate programs, capabilities and behaviors exist to driveemployee engagement and improve the employee experience.
+ Promote organizational resilience bydeveloping the readiness and capacity for change in assigned client groups.
+ Provide resources to help guideclient groups through a high degree of growth and change, including, but notlimited to, talent assessments, engagement surveys, and training resources
+ Provide expertise in the areas ofcareer planning, development and coaching, performance management,compensation, and organization design.
+ Apply knowledge of employment law andexercise good judgment to effectively resolve employee relations issues inpartnership with relevant Centres of Excellence within the HR Team.
+ Collaborate with the HR Team tochampion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engagedand inspired to deliver top business results.
+ Use qualitative and quantitative datato identify and highlight trends to help improve organizational effectivenessand employee performance.
+ Support cross-functional projects byproviding subject matter expertise, including research, detailed planning, andimplementation.
+ Act as a role model and guide peoplemanagers and team members on the delivery of our HR programs.
**What you bring:**
+ A university degree in HumanResources, Business Administration or Organizational Design. A master’s degreeis preferred.
+ A minimum of eight (8) years ofdemonstrated experience partnering with and influencing leaders at all levels,helping deliver strategic people initiatives that positively impact businesspriorities.
+ Pursuing a coaching certificationwill be an asset
+ Ability to analyze data, understandtrends, and develop recommendations for action based on such analysis.
+ Effective teamwork, communication,problem-solving and client-service skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in amulti-functional, matrixed organization.
+ Proficiency in MS Office and HRISplatform.
+ Must have strong experience in theareas of organization design, succession planning, performance management,diversity/inclusion, change management, compensation and rewards,coaching/development, talent management, conflict resolution, and/or employeerelations.
+ Must have a strong businessconsulting orientation and the ability to manage concurrent responsibilities.
+ Must also demonstrate effectivedecision-making, planning and initiative with the goal of furthering thesecompetencies in VFPA’s emerging leaders.
+ Must possess excellent communicationand interpersonal skills to effectively interface with colleagues at all levelsof business and the public to represent VFPA as a dynamic organization and aworld-class port.
