A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. **Role Summary:** Reporting directly to the Americas Regional Chief Human Resources Officer, the HR Business Management Director is responsible for developing and managing overall strategic development and execution of Human Resource priorities in the region. The role will have scope of priorities across the Americas region to include United States, Latin America, and Canada and function as the liaison with regional and global HR functions. Leads the strategic design and implementation of major regional HR initiatives and programs. Develops regional HR organizational strategies based on business and industry trends and experiences. In this scope, the incumbent will work closely with senior executives and senior leaders of Human Resources ensuring alignment of strategic priorities and execution. The leader needs to be innovative with non-traditional thinking and approaches to develop tailored solutions to new and ongoing challenges within the bank and department. **Management or Supervision:** The role will have oversight for the risk management and governance functions within the Americas HR Strategy, Risk & Governance team. **Major Responsibilities:** Human Resource Strategy – In coordination with senior regional and global HR leaders, as well as regional leadership across various business functions, develop people-centric strategies to support business execution and Human Resource priorities. Understand both business strategy and the strategy of the regional and global organization. Apply critical thinking to unforeseen challenges and shifts in trends within the financial industry. Craft and execute on long-term strategy harmonizing with global partners and set up HR platforms for long-term success and flexibility as strategic challenges emerge. Strategic Thinking – Make sound business decisions when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives. Develop long-term strategic alliances and partnerships both internally and externally that increase the company's competitive advantage. Equip the department to become an effective long-term strategic partner. Prepare for business decisions with thorough briefings and consultations. Help navigate the organization in a dynamic competitive landscape. Influencing – Apply knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies. Demonstrate ability to impact decisions within and outside Americas HR. Gain acceptance of ideas and suggestions from senior business executives. Define strategies and plans for influencing multiple decision makers. Demonstrate ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Debate issues to bring the most critical points to the forefront for decision making. Influence high-impact, high-risk, and highly complex situations. Risk Management – Position the department in anticipation of new marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities with an eye towards safety and soundness, risk avoidance and mitigation, and alignment with regional and global policies and practices. Understand and fulfill accountabilities as Americas HR’s first line of defense central point of contact (CPC), meeting internal governance and external regulatory requirements. Serve as CPC for regulators. Critical Thinking – Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Analyze and discuss alternatives with multiple stakeholders. Share experience regarding optimal timing and circumstances for refraining from or making decisions. Differentiate between content and context of a decision. Anticipate special issues and considerations for effective decision-making during a crisis. Project Management – Manage, direct, plan, develop and implement the most complex projects or initiatives to accomplish goals and business objectives through management of team which may consist of project managers and specialists. Provide comprehensive analysis and direction for multiple concurrent mission critical projects. Focus on enterprise-wide projects spanning across HR functions regionally and globally seeking to align priorities and provide proficient oversight ensuring on time delivery of end use products. **_Primary Duties:_** + Manage the business aspects of Americas HR and Corporate Communications (leadership and governance meetings, cross-functional forums, objective setting and performance monitoring, policy frameworks, reporting, budgeting and expense control, real estate, vendor / third-party risk management, transfer pricing, dual hatting, inter-affiliate agreements, etc.) + Serve as HR’s central point of contact for internal risk management and governance stakeholders (e.g., BURM / BURCO, Risk [Operational, Strategic], Audit, policy working groups, etc.) and external regulators (e.g., OCC) + Coordinate HR presentations for ECA and Boards – USAB, MUSA, MUS(CAN) + Liaise with Global HR Business Management and other Global HR functions, as well as Regional COE leaders + Direct a wide range of activities to support the Americas HR and Corporate Communications team (communications, town halls, engagement, events, etc.) + Serve as the CHROs proxy for meetings and forums where HR is required to participate + Lead special projects as needed (e.g., in-office expectations, resolution planning, etc.). + Lead and coordinate HR’s work as related to regional strategic initiatives + Support CHRO on global HR and regional business initiatives as required (e.g., establishment of global HR Business Advisory organization for GHR) **Expected Qualifications & Education:** + Bachelors degree required, Masters Degree preferred. Finance related fields optimal. + Extensive leadership and professional experience + Extensive experience in Business Management or Risk Management + Previous work at a financial services firm preferred + Experience working with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and managing expenses + Communication experience, both written and verbal, at a large team scale + Experience in conducting working sessions, facilitating focus groups, driving team meetings and process improvement sessions, etc. + Familiarity with executing activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures and other significant enterprise transformations FUNCTIONAL SKILLS + Excellent skills in risk assessment analysis and a solid understanding of business fundamentals + Ability to analyze risk trends, identify and project signs of changing risk levels + Deep understanding of Human Resources and its inherent risk to earn the trust of all senior leadership + Solid understanding of and planning skills in all aspects of HR’s annual cyclical activities + Demonstrated record of delivering positive results and working within time and budgetary constraints for project work, to achieve high-quality implementations and cost savings + Ability to identify excessive cycle time and/or costs and develop alternative courses of action + Ability to prioritize and analyze a list of measurable product or service characteristics along with associated target values + Ability to develop and oversee strategic goals and techniques for a project and effectively communicate this to all project team members + Fully conversant on issues and current trends as they relate to HR and the banking industry + Strong management and coaching skills, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an ability to interact with all levels of management + Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies The typical base pay range for this role is between $166K- $210K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
