FlexStaff is hiring an HR Assistant for one of our clients.
Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the HR Assistant provides support in the functional areas of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manage benefit administration (Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, 403b thrift), assist employees in completing enrollment for health benefits during the Open Enrollment period and process enrollment, review all invoices, manage unemployment and is the liaison between workers compensation vendor and employees.
+ Manage full cycle recruitment which includes posting jobs to job boards, internal job postings, screening and reviewing resumes, creating offer letters, wage theft notices and processing new hire paperwork; perform background checks, employment verifications and I-9 verification, and coordinate with managers to facilitate recruiting processes.
+ Schedule initial fingerprinting appointments and responsible for the ongoing tracking of fingerprinting schedule and informing staff who have been previously cleared as to when they should be re-fingerprinted.
+ First line of contact for employee complaints, respond to all employee inquiries in regards to issues related to benefits, payroll, agency's policies and procedures.
+ Prepare monthly new hire and termination reports and creates other reports as requested.
+ Responsible for the timely processing of personal change of status, termination, promotion, salary increases; enter new hires into payroll processing system and conducts new hire audit to ensure receipt of all new hire paperwork.
+ Process reimbursement forms and route to fiscal department for different benefit programs.
+ Maintain employee files and records, ensures completeness of files.
+ Enroll in ongoing professional development courses to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to complete the job.
+ Generates correspondence as requested utilizing knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Develops and maintains relationship with employment agencies, universities, and other recruitment sources.
+ Complete survey questionnaires requested by associations, such as IAC and regulatory agencies, SED, OPWDD, OMH, DOL.
+ Direct activities for Clerical Assistant/HR Intern.
+ Updates credential list for staff in children's programs.
+ Maintain employee-related databases (Benefits, Professional licensure and FMLA tracker).
+ Prepares reports through HRIS system and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and agency.
+ Ensure new hires, terminations, status changes, garnishments, direct deposits enrollments and other changes are forwarded to payroll and inputted correctly as necessary.
+ Review, reconcile, and forward benefit invoices to Fiscal for payment on a monthly basis.
+ Process FMLA, PFL, and workers' compensation leaves.
+ Prepares minutes for monthly Operations Meeting.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor's degree required.
+ Minimum of one year experience working in human resources.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
+ Training and experience in general office procedures, policies, and methods.
+ Knowledge in the use of office equipment.
+ Ability to use good judgment in the completion of a variety of work situations.
+ Ability to organize, multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and plan work to meet deadlines.
+ Must have strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
+ Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in computer software, including Paychex, MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
+ Ability to interact with all levels of staff and represent the Agency with external groups/individuals and maintain confidentiality.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting
+ Bending, stooping, and lifting
+ Ability to lift at a minimum of fifty (50) pounds

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $26-$28/hour
