Job Title: Human Resources Assistant
Job Description

The HR Assistant is responsible for performing administrative tasks for the HR office as a whole, including training and assisting within other departments. This role offers a great opportunity for someone to further their HR career and gain more experience within different aspects of HR.

ResponsibilitiesAnswer general employee questions within the scope of job responsibilities.Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.Organize and maintain LOA, FMLA, WC and STD files.Assist HR Team in organizing and processing incoming Human Resources and personnel documentation.Assist with the creation and updating of HR forms.Assist in enrollment of benefits for new hires and during annual open enrollment.Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resources files and records.Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefit enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, training, and other celebrations.Assist HR Team with various research and special projects.Assist with reception duties, including registering visitors, issuing visitor passes when required, and operating the telephone console to receive, collect, and distribute incoming calls and messages.Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties for VP, Customer Service, Safety, Manufacturing, and other management personnel to support organizational goals.Maintain I-9 forms and track expired documents.Accurately file documents in personnel files on a weekly basis.Answer frequent questions from applicants.Assist with preparation and conducting new hire orientation presentations.Attend outside educational seminars and networking events pertaining to the human resources field, benefits, and safety.Essential SkillsHuman resources expertise.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.2+ years of HR-related functions experience (admin, assistant, specialist, etc) or a Bachelor's Degree in HR with at least an internship.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills.Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.Work Environment

The position is based in the office area of a manufacturing facility, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The dress code is business casual, with jeans permitted on Fridays. The role includes a yearly allowance for safety shoes, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided when necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
