Wha t are we looking for?
W e want to add a Human Resources Manager (HRM) to our human resources team. As the HRM, you will lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department for your assigned location. You will work collaboratively with the department's HR Generalists and Recruiters to ensure that the department provides an inviting cul t u r e and outstanding customer service by treating employees with integrity and professionalism on time. To uphold the mission and vision of SJCS, it will be your responsibility to provide HR guidance to your assigned State Di r ec tor t o meet the state’s regulatory needs. You will work alongside and report directly to the Director of Human Resources.
Y ou r o v erall essent ial responsibilities will be the following:
+ Ove r sees the daily workflow of the department.
+ Handles discipline and termination of employees per company policy.
+ P rovide s su pport and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, s pe c i aliz ed , and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine t as k s in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodation, in v es ti ga ti n g allega ti ons of wrongdoing, and terminations.
+ Ove r sees emplo y ee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
+ Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommends bes t p r ac ti ces; r e v ie w s policies and practices to maintain compliance.
+ Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human r esou r ces, talent management, and employment law.
+ Rec r u it , i n t e rv ie w , h ir e, and train new staff as needed for the department and the agency when a r ec r u it e r is unavailable, e.g., on vacation, sick, or vacant role, etc.
+ P erfor ms other duties as assigned.
The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000, depending on experience.
Qualifications

Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:
+ A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
+ A minimum of four years of human resource management experience will be considered in place of a de gr ee.
+ SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly desired.

+ Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.
+ M ee t the SJCS and the funding authority's r equ ir emen t o f c r iminal back gr ound and r eco r d checks.
P hy sical and environmental conditions include:
+ P r olonged pe r iods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
+ M us t be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
+ M us t access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
+ Tr avel up to 50%.
