This position will aid our federal client's public health investigations  across various information sources (e.g. scientific literature, public information websites, databases), building data repositories, integrating disparate data sources, improving data quality and  developing and documenting methodology to answer regulatory safety\efficacy questions using a suite of analytical tools and visualization outputs (i.e. summary reports, dashboards).

What You Will Do:

Perform quality control checks and clean up large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.Prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured datasets (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Excel, text, images) for use in food and ingredient monitoring efforts.Develop coding and queries to support big data testing and dashboard development using tools like Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.Use version control software (e.g., Git) to collaborate on data science projects.Apply critical thinking and quantitative skills to conduct analyses on food and ingredient-related public and private datasets.Use Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas/Polars, and Scikit-learn for numeric computing and machine learning.Research regulatory topics and prepare documentation, summary reports, memoranda, abstracts, and publications.Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Expand regulatory knowledge relevant to food safety, ingredient monitoring, and public health.

What You Will Need:

US Citizenship is requiredA bachelor's degree is requiredA Minimum four (4) years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar roleExperience in working with unstructured data sources (e.g., text,  images, audio) and structured data (i.e., Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Excel).Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, R).Proficient programming skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant frameworks.Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods, such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and time series analysis.Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate complex data insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven projects or products.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Experience with health, clinical, or regulatory dataExperience in building and deploying production-grade data systems or products.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Knowledge of financial or life science regulatory frameworks

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
