Welcoming you to the team

The team is flexible and competent with team members located in Belgium, France, Norway and across the rest of Europa. Our team is responsible for Health, Security, Safety, Environment and Risk (HSSER) activities for the Land frame scope related to the Installation and Service Department. The workplace is in Belgium and you will be reporting to the H&S Manager for the Installation and Service Department.

Getting a flying start

To succeed in the Land Frame HSSER team, you have relevant experience from civil work and construction/Site activities, relevant industry or similar.  You have experience with relevant rules and legislation in Belgium. You have worked in companies that are project driven, and with the HSSER discipline. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Ideally your experience is related to civil work or construction sites. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety during the projects. You have knowledge and experience from HSSER hereunder practical experience in supplier management, risk management, training/ coaching etc., all through your high level of safety awareness and your ability to lead by example.

How you make an impact

You will work in project teams as a HSSER Site Engineer under the Land Frame agreement. To do this you typically support the sites with overseeing that risk management activities are being implemented, perform required training in tools and systems, follow- up of reporting and incidents, and ensure communication across the organization. With your ability to work in teams and to be an positive influence, you will ensure a low level of HSSER issues, a high level of safety awareness and secure the road towards Nexans’s zero LTI vision for the operational sites. In addition, you will be comfortable working with supplier follow- up. You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

Your starting point when you join

Strong overall understanding of HSSER discipline areas, or specialist in minimum one Minimum 5 years of relevant civil work or construction experience, or relevant University degree In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you have civil construction experience and ability to work well in teams. As we work with multiple land sites, flexibility and drivers license is important In Nexans we work in teams and are driven by project execution therefore being able to coach/ guide and lead by example is of upmost importance.
