As the HSSE Practitioner, you would be required to carry put the following duties and responsibilities: 

General Responsibilities 

To effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring:Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategiesThat HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibilityMonitor and report to HSE Specialist Retail and B2B the level of compliance regarding the implementation of HSSE standards, any local by-laws and government legislation so as to minimize all risk pertaining to the company’s assets and stock.Recommend suspension of operational activities when justified, in consultation with Management.Ensure that HSSE Management systems are in place to satisfy the requirements of the Group by implementing, maintaining and communicating the retail network manual. Ensure internal HSSE Audits are conducted in line with the Business HSSE Manual. Conducting of all business related Risk assessments Complete the MOC document for Exceptional deliveries or for any other required changes required by business. Completion of the Monthly security presentation and advising relevant business units on progress.Ensure that all B2B events and non-conformance’s are investigated and reported as required by legislation and advice on corrective and preventive actions and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation. To provide comprehensive updates & statistical analysis (Trends) of the KPI Data for the Area of Responsibility including driving of action plan management for:RAMSESINTELEXCOMPLYWORKSIZI Safety

Daily

Monitor the accidentreporting@total.co.za mailbox and notify HSE Specialist Retail and B2B of level 3+ and HIPO events.Validate Ramses events for eForm uploads and Progress Cards submitted.Load Adhoc Ramses events.

Weekly

Follow up on overdue Ramses & Intelex cases for the B2B business.Validate quality of the information entered.  All Ramses events must at least be in status “Processing”.Ensure all level 3+ and HIPO events have a REX and that the RCAT methodology is followed.  All supporting documents must be attached to the Ramses event.Ensure that the REX register is up to date.Monitor the Progress Card App and send applicable reports to Ramses.Compile and submit weekly HSE report.

Monthly

Complete HSE KPI Dashboard and submit to HSE Specialist Retail and B2B by the 6th of the following month.Submit monthly Ramses and Intelex downloads to Regional Sales Managers for validation by the 6th of the following month.Monitor progress of delivery constraints and give feedback to sales team and logistics.

 

Conduct audits and inspections, prepare feedback reports, identify possible corrective action, follow through and follow up on effectiveness of corrective actions.Ensure all licenses and permits are in place, valid and compliance managed by the responsible person as required by specific legislations and that all license requirements were met.Ensure that all accidents/incidents are investigated, evaluated and results reported on a regular basis to Line management and relevant B2B divisions.Ensure all level events have a root cause investigation with appropriate close out of cases and findings Ensure that a REX is distributed to all staff and key stakeholders for level 3+ and HIPO events.Carry out all site inspections within area of responsibility as per the agreed schedule to report and assist in the closing of deviations. Oversight and management of the Security Management System were required at B2B  Immediately attend to site with an emergency when required by the HSE Specialist Retail and B2B Carry out any other lawful and reasonable instruction by HSE Specialist Retail and B2B.  

Advising and training:

Communicate and implement in conjunction with management staff, HSSE management systems for the Business.Lead the training and implementation of the Business HSSE manual and systems. Guide, advise and train B2B Divisional Management on changes to legislation and related impacts as instructed by the HSE Specialist Retail and B2B Candidate Profile

In order to fully execute this job, the incumbent of this role would posses the following: 

Suitable HSSE undergraduate  Qualification Minimum of 5 years HSSE experienceExtensive experience in HSSE Management gained in the Petrochemical IndustryValid Code B driver’s licenseAdvanced drivingAnalytical ability and systems orientatedProven co-ordination skillsPlanning and organizing skillsInnovation, creativity and flexibilityGood communication and interpersonal relationship skills.Good working knowledge of MS Office.English is the working language.Knowledge and understanding of company policies and Company RulesTo develop, implement, review and maintain HSSE Systems through area of responsibility  To implement HSSE initiatives within each business Unit To liase with operational staff, manage relationships and to improve coordination and transmission of HSE related requirements To monitor Maturity index in each BU and report accordingly Ensure consistent quality of audit reports and related findings.
