Will be a part of a team implementing and overseeing the Safety Program.
JOB DUTIES:
Help implement all PSC safety policies and procedures. Monitor the activities of the project to ensure the job is compliant with governmental regulations and company policies and procedures. Assist in investigating the root cause of unsafe conditions and incidents through procedures, equipment and site inspections, and worker observation. Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on safety performance. Review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with the standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching, and training. Knowledge of applicable construction safety requirements. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
3+ years’ experience in a Safety position, preferably in the Heavy Civil industry, or a relevant mix of education and HSE field experience in associated construction industry. OSHA 510 & OSHA 500 or similar. Ability to work as part of a team. Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of applicable Heavy Civil Construction safety requirements. Certification in any or all the following is desired but not required: Board of Certified Safety Professionals: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST). Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. New Hire Orientation Training and Quiz Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to their own health and/or safety, or any other individuals in the workplace. Understand and follow job site safety requirements as required by PSC.
