As HSE Manager - Manufacturing, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and influencing site management on Health, Safety and Environmental matters and overseeing HSE services, programs, and/or program elements. You will also be responsible for supervising a small team of HSE professionals at our Fort Worth Main Campus in Fort Worth, TX.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and taking preliminary samples and measurements of dangerous forces and toxic substances, removing hazards and protecting employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.Taking effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions follow applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.Ensures that HSE services are provided to the site in an effective and efficient manner in alignment with business objectives and works directly with business leaders.Participating in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.May serve as the primary point of contact on HSE issues at the site for regulatory authorities and co-ordinates the response to regulatory inspections.Preparing and forwarding as required reports on injuries and fatalities, investigating accidents, and collaborating closely with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify root causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.Conducting safe work procedures training courses, providing advice, and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety.Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace.Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions.Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and providing information required by regulatory agencies.WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.5 Years of Relevant ExperienceWork hours: 9/80 work schedule; Monday – Thursday and every other FridayTravel Requirements: NoRelocation assistance: NoSponsorship available: NoPREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational health and/or medicine, engineering, or related field.CIH or CSP highly preferredMinimum of 5 Years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and relevant industry standards.Experience leading or supervising a team of HSE professionals.Direct involvement in OSHA inspections and regulatory compliance activities.Proven track record of developing and implementing HSE programs, policies, and procedures.Hands-on experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.Strong knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.Experience delivering HSE training programs and conducting safety audits.History of working directly with regulatory agencies and managing site inspections.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and organizational levels.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:
