Based in Rydalmere, North Sydney, on Darug land, this role is dedicated to leading the effective implementation and execution of HSE policy and strategy across Thales Underwater operation.

Responsibilities:

Provide HSE guidance and support to all levels of the organisation, promoting a strong safety culture

Engage with and leading business leaders to achieve outcomes aligned with HSE strategy, and serving as a trusted advisor and custodian of organizational standards

Spearhead activities necessary for implementing the business line HSE strategy, management system requirements, and HSE improvement plans

Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and community groups

Maintain a program of assurance activities such as HSE audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues, implement corrective actions, and track progress

Lead and support a small HSE business partnering team

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

Extensive experience in an HSE business partner or operational role, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing setting

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of HSE, management systems and relevant legislation

Sound understanding of Injury Management, Workers Compensation and Health Promotion

Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder partnership

Ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively, with strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach

Proven influencing skills to drive positive outcomes across all organizational levels

Relevant tertiary qualification in work health and safety, risk management, or related field

Ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances
