The **Product Stewardship Specialist** provides expert product stewardship guidance to businesses and technology developers regarding compliance with Chemicals Regulations in the areas of existing and new chemicals registration, product safety, product footprint, and sustainable design for the APAC region. The Product Stewardship Specialist is a key team member who works with the Product Stewardship APAC Team to drive sustainable growth. As such, the Product Stewardship Specialist must possess relevant chemistry education and technical skills, and demonstrate the business acumen needed to support critical business.
**Primary Responsibilities & Duties:**
+ Develops and implements programs to achieve full compliance with chemicals registration and notification regulations in the region, including developing sound working relationships with service providers.
+ As part of a global HazCom team, prepare APAC SDSs and Labels for products, and support adjacent work.
+ Work on digitization projects to drive regulatory compliance as well as effectiveness and efficiency of processes & tools by collaborating with various stakeholders.
+ Anticipate, communicate, and manage regulatory changes with respect to existing regulations that may impact existing product lines and benefit new product introduction.
+ Identify and communicate compliance with emerging regulations and ensure we implement for meeting future product regulatory compliance requirements.
+ Work with regional counterparts to manage emerging issue identification process.
+ Provide guidance to business and implement appropriate compliance plans, including test plans, simulation models and other tools
+ Identify and manage risks early in the product life cycle. Understand potential product use and misuse (occupational, consumer, etc.) and work across the function to complete appropriate risk assessments.
+ Provide fast and accurate responses to customer inquiries and leverage existing tools to drive customer satisfaction.
+ Support Product Stewardship functional excellence initiatives focused on applying best practices throughout the organization.
**Desired Skills & Experience**
**Basic Qualifications**
BS/MSc in engineering, chemistry, environmental health science, regulatory affairs, or related technical discipline.
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Stewardship.
+ 5 years of experience with global product registration and notification schemes.
+ Extensive knowledge about regional regulations and industry standards.
+ Knowledge and experience in the field of SDS & label authoring/preparation and SAP EHS module.
+ Demonstrated capability to work within the following regulatory areas: K-REACH, KOSHA, APAC REACH-like regulations, Hazard Communication and emerging regulation identification.
**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, OECD Guidelines, and various UN Frameworks and Guidelines.
+ Ability to develop professional relationships with local Regulatory Authorities, local customers and other local stakeholders, incl. industry associations and sector groups.
+ Outstanding verbal, written and presentation clarity.
+ Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills
+ Ability to address/influence a wide range of cultures, disciplines and levels within the organization
+ Willingness and ability to work effectively in a large multi-national matrix organization. Travel as needed.
+ Excellent leadership, project management and team building skills; with a proven track record of achieving extraordinary results.
+ Work to the highest levels of integrity.
+ Mastery of multiple languages including English.
