Based in Rydalmere, North Sydney, on Darug land, the purpose of your role will be to partner with the business and lead the effective implementation and execution of HSE policy and strategy in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor and custodian of standards, leading the implementation and maintenance of HSE strategies and improvement plans
Support the rollout of Thales Australia HSE policies, ensuring compliance with all procedures
Coach and mentor leaders and teams from management level through to the shop floor to achieve HSE objectives, while collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address health, safety, and environmental risks
Lead reporting and investigations of hazards, incidents, and injuries/illnesses, and ensure follow-ups are completed
Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, keeping accurate records of safety inspections, permits, and licenses
Drive continuous improvement in HSE culture
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
Extensive experience in an HSE business partner or operational role, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing setting
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of HSE, management systems and relevant legislation
Sound understanding of Injury Management, Workers Compensation and Health Promotion
Relevant tertiary qualification in work health and safety, risk management, or related field
Ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances
