Purpose of the role:
The HR Business Partner, Tequila Category – Central Functions, brings to life the HR strategies and initiatives across the category´s functions. The role acts as a bridge to align and shape the people and culture agenda to deliver the short-term and long-term performance ambition of the cohort.

We have an outstanding collection of world-leading tequila brands in our portfolio. Carefully crafted in Mexico from Agave Weber Blue Variety and enjoyed by consumers worldwide. Tequila is one of Diageo´s largest category, after Scotch. The popularity of tequila is on the rise among consumers, representing a great opportunity to drive growth. In F25, our tequila net sales grew 18%, driven by Don Julio and Casamigos in North America.
Our Tequila operations span across Jalisco and bordering states, with a base in Guadalajara, and encompass expertise in agave management, production, and partnerships with third-party operators to ensure quality and efficiency. This category is underpinned by a relentless focus on building a diverse, inclusive, and capable workforce, creating a workplace culture that champions collaboration, innovation, and pride in the iconic products we bring to the world. In the highlands of Jalisco we have 2 operational distilleries and being built is the world’s largest Tequila distillation greenfield that will be operational in F27.
The HRBP will support an employee base of approx. 300 employees in Planning, Category Strategy, Business Integration, Innovation & Brand Change and Global Functions employees that support the Tequila Category.
The role reports to the Category HR Director:

Partner with Organisation Effectiveness and Capability agenda grounded in the category strategy, by bringing to bear data and analytics creating possibilities that result in high performing and impactful performance, delivers cost efficiencies and injects the right reinvestments. The role provides change leadership across the manufacturing organization by pulling the levers of capability, process, ways of working, culture and leadership to deliver the outcomes for the business.
Enable the culture transformation within the functions by continued embedding of the Dial Up Behaviours, supporting and challenging leaders to embrace agility and speed, and driving accountability for bold and confident decision making.
Build high performing teams, coaching line managers to create an agile, stretching and focused performance environment to enable outstanding performance.
Actively collaborate with the E2E Diageo HR team, including shared services and our Centres of Excellence, to deliver amazing employee experiences every time.
Instil a continuous learning culture throughout the Category ensuring employees have access to stretching experiences and great learning content that fuels constant growth in their capabilities and our business performance.
Qualifications & Experience required :
Leadership from deep Functional Knowledge of leading HR for diverse client groups preferably in FMCG. Able to create priorities that spanning across all strategic levers, looking beyond the financial year on how to bring the future forward and creating performance impact at scale.
The candidate shall have solid Eye For Business and experience of driving interventions from insights from HR data linked to business performance outcomes.
Provoke / Challenge to surface problems and lead creative solutions through a culture of collaboration and standard methodology, removing duplication and championing efficiency and simplification.
Deliver outcomes through Interpersonal skills, building and nurturing genuine relationships based on mutual trust and respect, collaborating with and influencing across a variety of team members at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes.
Thrives in an environment dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and matrixed environment.
Having experience with working across multiple countries, geographies and cultures.
A master’s degree or equivalent experience in human resource management with at least 5 years of working experience preferably in a global multinational organization.
English and Spanish Sophisticated skills.
