Job Purpose

 

Accountable for the delivery of operational HR across Decorative and Coatings Paints Morocco with responsibility for ensuring alignment to the business strategy as well as to the Morocco people priorities, AkzoNobel HR strategy and KPIs.       Shape the Morocco people priorities as a member of the senior HR leadership team and drive key projects. Ensure the provision of a consistent, professional and commercially focused HR service to the business. In partnership with key stakeholders build functional and people capabilities through the deployment of People Practices and AkzoNobel People Processes to support current and future business needs. Oversee employee relations matters across Morocco mitigating business risk whilst providing commercially based outcomes. Champion the ‘one HR Paints & Coatings’ perspective through active collaboration with People Services and Centers of Excellence to deliver exceptional HR service to customers.                                                                                                                                                  Key Accountabilities

 

Organisation Transformation and Change Management

Work in partnership with Culture & Change CoE and key stakeholders to implement transformational projects, and where necessary challenge to ensure that the impact on people and the associated employee relations risks are considered and mitigated. Implement change management practices to support business leaders and people managers to enable and facilitate effective change.  Responsible for the project management of people activities associated with transformation including consultation requirements, recruitment, upskilling etc. utilizing AkzoNobel project management practices. Where required, accountable for tracking severance costs and savings for transformation projects. 

 

Talent Management

Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning meetings utilising AkzoNobel talent processes to ensure consistency across Morocco, collaborating with the Talent and Development Team (T&D) to share talent data.  Work with business leaders and people managers to identify current resource gaps as well as future workforce requirements, collaborating with CoEs to share information to bridge gaps and create talent pipelines. Facilitate end of year performance and talent reviews in line with the AkzoNobel people calendar.

 

Learning & Development

Work with people managers to identify, and where necessary challenge learning and development requirements, collaborating with the T&D team to deliver solutions. Work with T&D to roll out AkzoNobel global learning initiatives, facilitating L&D sessions where required. Build L&D self-service capabilities within organization by promoting and signposting the AkzoNobel Learning Academy, Global Learning Calendar and related on-line tools. In partnership with business leaders and people managers, identify current and future skills / capabilities gaps, collaborating with T&D to identify solutions to close gaps.

 

People Analytics

Harness People Data to identify relevant and actionable insights that identify or address challenges within area of responsibility. Be able to understand and effectively communicate the strategic HR KPIs to business leaders and people managers. Leverage People Data to highlight the link between HR activities and interventions and business performance to demonstrate the value of HR. Employee Relations Be aware of employee relations issues within area of responsibility, supporting and coaching HR Advisors to ensure we mitigate potential risks whilst providing a commercially focused service. Reward

Support and coach managers in discussions relating to job evaluation, pay and reward working with the Regional Rewards CoE as required.

 

Resourcing

Work in partnership with the Decorative Paints EMEA HR Director to ensure necessary approvals are in place for recruitment. Where it is value-add, participate in recruitment and selection of candidates. Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure that we provide an excellent recruitment service to our customers.

Other

Lead projects and initiatives across Paints and Coatings Morocco which support the delivery of the Morocco people priorities as well as the AkzoNobel HR strategy. Champion and be proficient in using HR self-service tools and support the HR operating model, directing managers and employees to the correct part of the model. Collaborate with HR colleagues across Morocco in order to provide an agile and flexible HR service to our customers. Be a role model for the company values and leadership behaviors and champion these locally. Help to promote awareness of the AkzoNobel Speak Up process and participate in investigations as required. Experience

 

Bachelors degree in HR Management, Business or any relevant specialisation. A minnimum of 10 years experience in HR management within manufacturing or industrial industries, with 5+ years leading an HR team. Good working knowledge of Morocco employment legislation and best practice HR within a complex business environment. Experience of partnering, coaching and influencing senior stakeholders including executives.  An excellent track record for building strong professional relationships and credibility across all levels of the organization. Experience of delivering innovative, creative and tailored HR solutions. Ability to present information and tell compelling stories, building stakeholder engagement around a range of HR initiatives. Ability to work in a complex matrix organization and be comfortable with ambiguity. Flexibility to travel where required.
